Why You Can’t Think Your Way Out of This (And What to Do Instead)

Have you ever found yourself going in circles - thinking, analysing, over-explaining, and still ending up...really stuck?
If so, guess what - You are not alone!
So many high-achieving women come to me saying: “I’ve journaled. I’ve talked to my friends. I’ve read all the books and listened to the podcasts. I know what I need to do…But I Just. Can’t. Do. It.”
Sound familiar?
That's because this isn’t a knowledge issue. Nor is it a mindset issue.
The Problem with “Figuring It Out”
When you’re overwhelmed, your nervous system is already overloaded, so the more you try to “figure it out” by thinking harder, the more confused you feel. And the more confused you are, the more you spiral down, because everything feels like it's out of your control - which can be scary.
And then you try to "logic your way out" of an emotional block, which actually doesn't work because the truth is this:
Your body doesn’t feel safe enough to move forward. Your brain is deliberately keeping you stuck in freeze mode - not because you're broken, or stupid, or not good enough - but because your brain is trying to protect you from failure, judgement, or regret. This most likely stems from your childhood - when you did something "new" or "outside of the box", and you were met with exactly those things, which upset and hurt you. So now your mind and body try their best to keep you away from "new" and "outside of the box", so you will not be harmed.
This is why you can’t think your way out - because it was never just about thinking to begin with.
The Real Reason You’re Stuck
If you’re like many of my clients, you already know what you want. You’ve seen it in your visualisations, you’ve dreamt about it, you can even feel it in your gut.
But you still can’t move towards it - and that makes you feel even worse, because every time you see your dreams, your new life, it's like it's on the other side of the mountain with a massive valley in between you.
Here’s the truth:
It’s not because you’re lazy and you're a procrastinator. It’s not because you’re not trying hard enough. It's not because you don't have the capability - so stop blaming yourself. It’s simply because you’re trying to force clarity from the outside in - instead of creating it from the inside out.
You're trying to make the outside world look exactly like your inner expectations before you make the move, before you create, before you [fill in the blank]. But unfortunately the world doesn't work in that way. You create, and then you see the results.
So What Can You Do Instead?
You become aware of your beliefs and mindset. You reconnect with your inner truth. And you start taking action - not massive leaps, but gentle, intentional shifts.
This is why I created The Overwhelm Reset Project.
It’s not just another coaching programme. It is a space where you’ll be seen, supported, and guided through the fog - so you can get off the hamster wheel and finally start moving. It is a space where I can guide you through your transformational journey in a structured way, so you don't have to navigate the unknown alone.
The goal is not to fix you - It’s about finally coming back to yourself.
The goal is help you come back to your true authentic self, uproot your limiting beliefs and rewire your mindset, so you can create the lifestyle that you want to live - day by day.
Final Thoughts
You’re not wrong for feeling stuck. But it doesn’t have to be that way - not anymore.
Because you have the power to choose something different for yourself!
And please know that you don't have to figure this out by yourself. You’re meant to feel supported while you leap into what’s next.
